How to Change an AirTag's Battery
The AirTags come with CR2032 batteries the size of regular coins, which are designed to last at least a year before needing to be replaced. Most early recipients of the AirTag may already have to replace the battery, but if you never did and need a replacement battery, you can easily install a new battery
3) Disconnect the two halves of the AirTag.
4) Remove the old battery and upgrade with a new battery of the same type, high quality. When the battery is properly installed, you will hear a sound.
5) Replace the stainless steel underside of the AirTag, making sure that the three tabs on the cover line up with the slots on the AirTag.
6) Rotate the cover clockwise back into position until it stops.
You can check AirTag’s battery capacity in the Find My app, and if the battery is low, you’ll get a notification on your iPhone letting you know it’s time to replace it.
